Mendon Public Library Bioretention System
• Three segments combine to filter parking lot, roof, and sidewalk runoff before it enters the common storm drainage system.
• 7,350SF roof drainage and 26,000 SF parking lot and entrance road surface area are filtered by the system.
• Plantings consist of a variety of wet-tolerant trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials, and ground cover species.
• A rain garden next to the main entrance and windows are intended to serve as an educational exhibit as well.
